Michael is from Warwick, New York. He has been playing soccer since he was four, through high school and on to California University of Pennsylvania in 1996. In the 1997 off-season a knee injury ended that playing career. His EMS career had already started in high school, when he joined the Warwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
Teaching came first. He has spent twenty-eight years in classrooms and skills labs — BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, PHTLS, and Pennsylvania EMS certification. On the sideline he spent two years as Head Coach of the Uniontown High School Girls Varsity Soccer team before taking the men’s program at Penn State Fayette. He is a D License soccer coach and is now Uniontown Girls Varsity Assistant Coach. The Fayette campus has been his second home since 2011.

Early
Warwick, New York
Soccer from age four, through high school. EMS started in those same years, when he joined the Warwick Volunteer Ambulance Corps.

Played collegiate soccer for Cal U.
1997
The injury
A career-ending knee injury in the off-season. The playing career stopped. The teaching, coaching, and EMS work did not.
2005
Nurse
West Penn Hospital School of Nursing. The clinical foundation that still sits under every class he teaches.
2011
Penn State Fayette
EMS instructor in Continuing Education. The campus became a second home.
2015
MBA
Southern New Hampshire University. Operations, people, and the business of keeping a service running.

Girls Varsity Head Coach
Two years as Head Coach of the Uniontown High School Girls Varsity Soccer team, immediately before Penn State Fayette.
2022
Penn State Fayette
Named Head Men’s Soccer Coach after those two seasons at Uniontown, charged with rebuilding a program on discipline and community.
